A new year and a new life?

There's something cleansing about a new year, a chance to say goodbye to the old and look forward to the new and all of the exciting possibilities. All those promises and resolutions, to do more of somethings and less of the other stuff. We then get ready for the disappointments that follow and an acceptance of our 'lot' because why would things change for us? Yet for some people there is an almost anticipation of what could happen next year, a sense of  "there must be more than this" (Consuming Fire Tim Hughes). Yet it's difficult to let go of the old and our old ways that we know bring out the worst in us. If only there is a way?

So we stand in a circle with our arms crossed, holding on to the people next to us like everything depends on it. In anticipation of what will happen as we listen to the sounds of "Big Ben" and the song of Auld Lang Syne. These words are sung all over the world as a nostalgic reminiscence and a toast of past relationships and memories (to find out more just use the googlator). After more toasting, plenty of hugs and kisses; comes the enthusiasm and hunger to create this new life for ourselves. Then in the cold light of the following day something within prevents us from making those changes. Creates doubt in our mind and tells us we are not worth it, because who could love us that much. Leaving a thirst for something more in our life. If only there is a way?

John 6:35 (CEV) Jesus replied: I am the bread that gives life! No one who comes to Me will ever be hungry. No one who has faith in Me will ever be thirsty.
Enjoy this special time with your friends & family and as you look at the next year, remember there is another way.

All the best
